Fashion, Colonel Quaddafi style

February 28, 2011 § 1 Comment

So apparently Colonel  Quaddafi, the longest serving leader in both Africa and Arab World, is one heck of a fashionista. According to Vanity Fair, drawing upon the influences of Lacroix, Liberace, Phil Spector (for hair), Snoopy and Idi Amin, Libya’s leader is simply the most unabashed dresser on the world stage.

I guess his key looks would be long semi-sheer gowns and Africa-motif shirts, with a twist of Saturday Night Fever. Click here for more.

Rihanna wants a husband

Déjà vu Déjà vu. Product placement at Grammy’s. Here she is, trying to pull off Jean Paul Gaultier’s wedding gown.  It’s like hey just in case I meet Mr. Perfect  tonight and we decide to go to Vegas. Well at least that would be pretty convenient for security guys at the airport, not a huge chance  Rihanna will be hiding something in that dress.

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while already.  So Yuppi Yey Yey for me for  finally gathering myself together to do it. Yes we can, as Mr. Obama would say.

A-freakin-mazing photographer from Buenos Aires, Irina Werning, goes all wild with the “Back to the future” idea.  Awesome, I know. Check for more on her website.

Laser Pump Maze Mid by United Nude

February 20, 2011 § 1 Comment

I was spending some quality time (a.k.a shopping) with my mum last week and I managed to trick her into getting these pumps. To be very frank, these are not really my cup of tea, but i just l.o.v.e. United Nude.  They even have a little tale on their website about the origin of the brand. It goes: “This story begins with a broken heart. Rem’s attempt to get the girl back was made by downsizing architecture to its smallest and most vulnerable scale, that of a woman’s foot.” Awwwww, ok?

I’m sure this Rem dude made a fortune and bought loads of new girlfriends in Thailand or got a new heart transplanted.  What-so-ever. I’m still a sucker for storytelling, and all these years spent in a business school did not save me from  being a marketing victim  that I am now.  Thus it was pretty much “Mum, you either get these or you do not believe in true love”.

The pumps also come in lilac and white and are available for 175 euros on the United Nude online store.

Where Am I?
